My very first Ambulance ride

Today we are recovering from a 24 hour stint in the hospital with Rene'. It began with some labored breathing before bed and escalated into a transfer from the local hospital to the Children's Hospital at 2:30 in the morning. It turned out to be a nasty upper respiratory infection but they initially thought it was pneumonia. Somehow I made it on 3 hours of sleep in 24 hours. Although I don't ever want to go through that again. I won't relay the whole story because frankly just thinking about it wears me out. A few of the highlights were the insertion of an IV, then it being in the arm that she sucked her thumb with, and then moving it to the other one. Lots of medical residents giving contradictory information, and thanking God that I didn't have a terminally ill or very sick child. I went to bed at 8 last night, an hour after we got home. Today is a new day, thank goodness.

I'm so sorry your daughter was so sick. Poor baby!

Sounds like a long and frightening ordeal. I hope you're getting caught up on your rest, and I'm thankful too that you're home and that Rene is better.

Oh, Amy.....I hope she's alright now. I'm sure that was trying.
I pray that you all are resting well at home now. :o)

Something about that third (and last for me) child. We were in the emergency room with ours on Friday. They glued her back together and she was fine though. Rest well, and I will pray for Andy's family.
